2024 Hearst National Multimedia Championship – First Prize
Matter of Trust, founded by Lisa Gautier, is a nonprofit focused on environmental sustainability by linking surplus materials with needs. Their Hair Matters program collects hair, fur, and wool fibers to make mats that absorb oil spills, filter storm drains, and restore soil. Lisa aims to show that hair is a renewable resource. She believes that with collective effort, this resource can benefit San Francisco and the world.
