Matter of Trust was the fiscal sponsor for Anne Galjour’s benefit performance for the play “Hurricane,” which draws inspiration from the peculiarities of daily life in Louisiana’s Cajun community.

Shawn Rosenmoss coordinated the grassroots fundraiser and transported school supplies (backpacks, lunch boxes, calculators, notebooks) and kids’ clothing to the East Baton Rouge School District, which had been overwhelmed by the high volume of Katrina victims fleeing into the Parish.

Funds were also raised for assisting carpenters and masonry workers, such as Adam of Fabricatorz and other volunteers from Northern California, to reach Christian Fellowship Outreach Mission in devastated Tylertown, Mississippi.  Funds were used to purchase supplies and logistical needs.

The San Francisco School and Catalyst, a landscape architecture and urban planning firm, donated a truck full of supplies. The San Francisco School (SFS) also donated money for a music teacher to go down to the East Baton Rouge School system right away (SFS believes in the transformative power of music).
