Matter of Trust Latam is scaling the use of human hair as a low-cost, nature-based solution to address water pollution and soil degradation in Mexico City, deploying filtration systems and agricultural applications in vulnerable ecosystems. 

In Mexico City, Matter of Trust Latam is leading a project that repurposes hair waste collected from salons to address water pollution in Xochimilco. The initiative focuses on preserving chinampas, an ancestral agricultural system based on artificial islands built on former lakebeds, which remain in use for cultivating vegetables and flowers.
